We teach. That is the whole business.
MoneyLingo exists because the things that decide how an Indian household's money turns out — a nomination, a room-rent clause, a flat interest rate — are taught almost nowhere.
Why not markets-first
Every platform at scale in India is built around the stock market. That is a reasonable business and a poor curriculum. Someone can use this site for a year, never buy a share, and be substantially better off — because a health policy, an emergency fund and a will matter earlier and more often than a portfolio does.
Education, never advice
There is a real legal line between explaining how an instrument works and telling someone what to do with their money. The second requires SEBI registration; we do not hold it and do not want it, because holding it would change what we are.
So no calculator on this site outputs a course of action, no lesson names a product as a preference, and no page contains a return forecast. Where a rate has to be assumed, we ask you for it rather than filling one in.
What we are not registered as
- Not registered with SEBI as an Investment Adviser or as a Research Analyst.
- Not an AMFI-registered mutual fund distributor. We hold no ARN.
- Not registered with IRDAI as an insurance agent, broker or intermediary.
- Not an RBI-regulated entity. We do not accept deposits, lend, or process payments.
- Not registered with PFRDA. We do not distribute NPS or any pension product.
What we promise
- We take no commission, referral fee or revenue share from any bank, broker, AMC, insurer or lender.
- We run no advertising of any kind, targeted or contextual.
- We do not sell, rent or share personal data.
- No lesson, calculator or ranking is influenced by anyone who pays us.
If any of that ever stops being true, the funding page will say so before anything else changes.
Tell us when we are wrong
We will get things wrong. Indian rules change constantly and some of them are genuinely ambiguous. If you spot an error, email corrections@moneylingo.in. We will fix it and say that we did.
