Accessibility
An honest statement: what works today, what does not yet, and how to tell us when we have got it wrong.
Where we are
Target: WCAG 2.2 Level AA. We believe we substantially meet it, with the gaps listed below.
Done
- Every page works from the keyboard alone, with a visible focus ring and a skip-to-content link.
- Text and background pairs meet WCAG 2.2 AA contrast in both light and dark themes.
- Zoom is never disabled, and the layout holds to 400% without horizontal scrolling.
- Reduced motion is honoured globally — the marquee and every transition stop, not just some of them.
- Charts carry the actual numbers as their text alternative, not a description of a picture.
- Every form field has a real label and an associated hint, not a placeholder standing in for one.
- Wide tables scroll inside their own container so the page body never scrolls sideways.
- Touch targets meet the WCAG 2.2 minimum size (24px), and most are 40px or larger.
Not done yet
- Screen reader testing has been done with automated tooling but not yet with users of NVDA, JAWS or TalkBack.
- Audio narration for low-literacy learners is planned and not built.
- Hindi and regional language versions are planned and not built. The Devanagari font is already loaded.
- The document walkthrough format needs a non-visual equivalent before it ships.
